Subscription & Connection FAQs

Find answers by where the problem occurs. Check your account and subscription first, then troubleshoot the app and route. If you need more help, submit a ticket through the account panel.

Account Settings

Account & Subscription

Your account, client, and subscription profile are separate parts of the setup. Confirm you’re using the right account before configuring your device.

View account overview →
What information do I need to create an account?

No email address is required—just a username and password. Choose a username you can recognize that doesn’t reveal sensitive personal information, and set a unique password for VPN62. Keep your login details safe: you’ll need to sign in to the account panel to download a client, view your subscription, or submit a support ticket. If you have trouble logging in, check your username spelling, input method, and password capitalization before creating another account, which could make your existing orders and subscription harder to identify. Enter your credentials only in the VPN62 account panel.

How do I refresh my subscription, and do I need to import it again afterward?

Sign in to the account panel and check your current subscription and data balance. Then open the subscription or configuration manager in your client, select the VPN62 profile, and refresh it. Check that the route list appears, select an exit route, and test your connection. Try refreshing the existing profile before deleting it. If it still won’t load, get the current subscription from the panel and import it again. If you changed your subscription link in the panel, replace the link in the old profile too. Your subscription link grants access to your account—don’t share it in public groups or screenshots.

Do I need to choose a new plan when I switch devices?

VPN62 allows simultaneous connections on an unlimited number of devices, so switching devices alone doesn’t require a new plan. Sign in to the same account on your new device, download the client and subscription for that platform, and import them using the guide. Supported platforms include Windows / macOS / iOS / Android / Linux. Devices sharing a subscription also share its remaining data; unlimited devices doesn’t mean unlimited data. When you stop using an old device, remove saved subscription profiles and login details, especially before giving or lending it to someone else.

Where can I get the client and subscription?

After signing in, download the client and subscription through the download section of the account panel. Check your device’s operating system, then follow the panel’s instructions to get the appropriate client. The panel determines whether the iOS download option is available, so follow the instructions shown in your account. Downloading a client and enabling route access are separate steps: after installation, check your subscription status and import the profile. Don’t rely on screenshots from articles, profiles forwarded by others, or links saved long ago as current download sources. If the page doesn’t match your device, check the guide or describe the issue in a support ticket.

My account panel shows a subscription, but the client has no routes. What should I check first?

First, make sure the client has imported the VPN62 subscription for your current account, not a profile from an old account or another service. Check the subscription status, remaining data, and the client’s last refresh time. Refresh the profile manually and review any error message. If the subscription download fails, make sure your device is connected to the internet, then get the subscription link from the panel again. When sharing an error, include only the error text—not the full link. If the list is still empty after refreshing, submit a ticket with your operating system, client name, and the steps you took. This helps identify whether the issue is with your account status or profile import.

Troubleshooting

Connection Issues

Separate local network issues from profile and app problems. Change one thing at a time and keep notes on the results.

Check whether your connection is working →
The client says connected, but websites won’t load. How can I troubleshoot this?

A connected status only means the connection state has changed; it doesn’t guarantee that requests to a particular website are using the selected route. First, check that your regular internet connection works. Then verify the active profile, selected exit route, and whether system proxy or tunnel mode is actually enabled. Test your browser and the affected app separately to see whether everything fails or just one service. You can temporarily try another exit route for comparison, but change only one setting at a time. If your regular internet connection is also unavailable, troubleshoot the local network first, then check the subscription and client to avoid conflating separate issues.

Why does my browser work, but a particular app won’t use the proxy?

Apps vary in how they support the system proxy. Some use their own network settings, while client routing rules may send others directly. Check whether the affected app has its own proxy setting, then review the client’s matched rules and connection logs. If you use per-app routing, make sure the app is included in the apps that should use the proxy. Fully close and reopen the app after making changes, then test again. Don’t redirect all traffic to an unfamiliar profile. Check which modes your client supports, refer to the guide if needed, and keep the original profile so you can restore it.

What should I do if I get a format error when importing a subscription?

Make sure you copied the complete subscription link from the account panel—not a browser address, order page, or block of text that includes instructions. Check for extra spaces, line breaks, or punctuation, and confirm that the client’s required profile format matches the option provided in the panel. Don’t paste the link into an unknown conversion website; it could expose your account credentials. If the format is still rejected, save the error message and note your client name, operating system, and import method in a support ticket to confirm which option to use. You don’t need to create another account, and you shouldn’t share the full profile publicly.

Why does my connection drop after switching Wi-Fi or waking my device?

Switching networks changes your local connection path, while sleep, battery-saving settings, or background restrictions can pause the client. Check that the new network works, then return to the client and see whether the connection has resumed. Disconnect and reconnect if needed. If this often happens after locking your screen or switching networks, review the system’s background permissions and power settings for the client. Don’t judge network status by an old page left open in an app—try loading it again. If the problem occurs only on a particular network, note the network and steps that trigger it for your support ticket.

What information should I include in a connection troubleshooting ticket?

Include your device’s operating system, client name, selected exit route, affected app or website, circumstances around the problem, and steps you’ve already tried. Error messages, matched routing rules, and screenshots with sensitive details obscured are more useful than simply saying you can’t connect. If the issue occurs only on a particular network or in one app, mention whether other connections work. Don’t send your password, full subscription link, or a profile containing access credentials. Remove any such details from logs before sharing them. Submit your ticket through the account panel, and add updates to the same conversation to keep the troubleshooting history together.

Choose a Route for Your Use Case

Speed & Routes

Route performance depends on the entire connection path. Consider the service’s region and app messages—not just the route name.

Read about routes →
My connection slows down at peak times. Should I switch routes or plans first?

Check the route and your local network before blaming your plan. Pause high-data tasks on other devices, check your network, then compare different exit routes using the same app and content. This can show whether the slowdown is limited to a particular path. VPN62 offers 90+ countries / 150+ routes; choose candidate exit routes based on the region of the service you’re accessing. Monthly plan data allowances aren’t fixed-speed guarantees, and upgrading won’t identify the cause of a connection problem. If several routes are affected, note the circumstances and comparison results before submitting a ticket.

Should I choose an exit route by distance, region, or route type?

Start with the region required by the service, then compare how the connection performs. Distance is only a guide: your local carrier, routing path, and the service’s network conditions all affect performance. A route type’s name alone can’t predict your actual speed. Keep an exit route that works well for your regular services, and try another candidate for comparison when problems arise instead of switching at random. If you’re signing in or using a session that needs to stay active, keep the same exit route where possible to reduce extra verification caused by region changes. The routes page describes available exits and types, but you’ll need to test availability on your current network.

Is a route causing ChatGPT or Claude streaming responses to stop?

Streaming responses need a persistent connection. Network changes, connection drops, browser extensions, and account restrictions on the platform can all affect them. Keep the same exit region, check whether regular websites work, then test a new session and other apps separately. If only the platform reports an error, read its message rather than assuming the issue is with your route when it may involve account permissions, usage limits, or regional rules. Repeatedly switching routes and signing in again can make troubleshooting harder. See the complete AI guide for configuration requirements for web apps, APIs, and developer tools, then troubleshoot the relevant part.

Netflix or another streaming service says my region doesn’t match. What should I do?

First, check that your current exit region matches the region for the content you want to access. Then check whether the client’s rules route the app through your selected exit. Streaming services also consider account region, content licensing, and their own detection results, so a route name alone can’t tell you which catalog will be available. After changing exits, fully close and reopen the app to see whether it is still using an old session. A successful playback once doesn’t guarantee ongoing regional support. If regular websites work but streaming doesn’t, note the platform’s message and your current exit, then see the streaming access support page for what can and can’t be determined.

What does military-grade encryption protect?

Military-grade encryption is VPN62’s way of describing connection protection. It doesn’t replace the security measures of the websites you visit, device maintenance, or careful account management. Make sure you’re on the correct website, pay attention to browser certificate warnings, and avoid entering sensitive information on untrusted pages. An encrypted connection won’t change app permissions, a platform’s regional rules, or your account status. Store your subscription link and password securely, and obscure credentials in screenshots and logs. If you see a sign-in verification or permission error, identify which part of the process it comes from before checking the route or your account with the service.

Orders & Benefits

Billing & Refunds

Monthly plan data resets on your activation date; data packages last until used. Check order details in your account for payment and refund information.

View Plans
How much does a monthly plan cost, and when does the data reset?

Monthly plans cost ¥9.9/month for 60GB, ¥18/month for 250GB, and ¥28/month for 500GB. Data resets monthly on your activation date. Choose an allowance based on what you actually do on your devices: browsing documents, syncing files, and streaming video use different amounts of data. Monthly plans don’t include unlimited data, and resets don’t necessarily happen at the start of the calendar month. Check your current subscription and data balance in the account panel. If you have questions about your activation date or reset history, submit a ticket to check the relevant order. See the plans page for full pricing details.

Do data packages expire, and how are they different from monthly plans?

Data packages cost ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB, and ¥658/3000GB. They last until used and never expire. Unlike monthly plans, which reset each month on your activation date, data packages let you use your allowance as needed. “Never expires” describes the package’s validity; it doesn’t mean the data is unlimited. Compare your usage habits and data needs rather than looking only at the one-time price. If you already have another subscription, check the panel before choosing a new plan to see how your current order and benefits will be handled. Don’t assume data from different plans will be combined automatically.

What happens to the price difference if I upgrade a monthly plan mid-cycle?

When you upgrade a monthly plan mid-cycle, the price difference is prorated based on the remaining days. Confirm the order and subscription changes in the account panel before proceeding. Don’t estimate the result as if you had a full month remaining, or assume an upgrade adds another full month of data. If your connection is only temporarily slow, troubleshoot the network and route first; upgrading your data allowance won’t fix a connection issue. If you have questions about the prorated amount, submit a ticket with your current plan, the plan you want, and what the panel shows. Monthly plans and permanent data packages listed on the plans page have different billing models.

Which payment methods are supported, and what if my account doesn’t update after I pay?

We accept Alipay / WeChat Pay / USDT. Start payment from the order section of your account panel and follow the instructions on the current order page. Don’t use payment details forwarded by someone else. If your account status doesn’t change after payment, check the original order and payment record, then reopen the order page to confirm its status. Don’t pay again until the status is clear. If you still need help, submit a ticket with your order details and a payment receipt with sensitive information obscured. Don’t include your password or full subscription link, and don’t post payment details in public comments or groups.

How long is the refund period, and how do I request a refund?

VPN62 offers a 60-day no-questions-asked refund. To request one, sign in to the account panel, open the support ticket section, and provide the relevant order details. Follow up in the same ticket if more information is needed. Review the refund terms in the Terms of Service before submitting. If you have multiple orders, specify which one needs to be checked so it isn’t confused with another subscription. You don’t need to send your password or full subscription link to request a refund. Track progress through the ticket and payment records; no additional processing or arrival timeframe is promised on this page. You can also ask about your order status in the ticket.
